Joanna MacGregor is a ground-breaking artist with a truly international reputation who is widely regarded as one of Bach's Goldberg Variations' leading interpreters.

"...MacGregor was at her most eloquent, pushing the limits of tonal colouring in the intense and poignant lines..."The Guardian (Bach’s Goldberg Variations, St George’s Bristol )

Throughout a career that has seen her perform in over 80 countries, she is equally known as a recital artist and working alongside eminent conductors such as Pierre Boulez, Valery Gergiev, Sir Simon Rattle and Michael Tilson Thomas.

This concert is part of Piccadilly Piano Plus - a chamber music series at St James's Church Piccadilly, in which both established and emerging artists celebrate the many facets of the piano as a means of musical expression and education.

'Then came one of the day’s highlights: pianist Joanna MacGregor’s exceptional interpretation of the Goldberg Variations. With her tone as poised as it was subtly refined, she explored the many planes on which Bach’s structure operates, highlighting its protean variety of texture in a performance that touched the sublime.'The Guardian (Royal Albert Hall)
